A librarian in the Galápagos (05). On garúas and droughts

17.apr.2018 ❖ It is impossible to live in Galápagos without talking about wildlife. Or, as Grenier states in the quote above, about the weather. So, no matter how "librarian" this blog wants to be, I have no choice but to adapt to the circumstances that surround me. "When in Rome, do as the Romans". Therefore, if in the previous post I talked about shorelines, mangroves and seagulls, in this one I'll talk about clouds and waters. Or the lack of them.

01.dec.2017 ❖ The American political theorist Langdom Winner (1944) works on the social and political aspects that come with modern technological changes. In The Whale and the Reactor (1986), Winner poses what he calls "a revealing notion": that of technological somnambulism. According to the author, we walk voluntarily asleep through the process of reconstruction of the conditions of human existence by contemporary technology.
